Crafted from Natural Materials for Your Comfort

For more than seven generations, Astorflex has remained committed to traditional shoemaking methods, premium sustainably sourced natural materials, and responsible production. Every component of our shoe is carefully selected not only for its quality and durability, but also for the comfort and character it brings to the finished product.

Natural materials, honest ageing and everyday comfort

Astorflex materials are selected for how they feel, how they wear and how they become personal over time. Sustainability is also a key factor for us, therefore we source our materials from sustainable sources mostly as close as possible to us from Italy.

We also only use water based glue and select our threads accordingly. Suedes, roughouts, full-grain leathers, vegetable-tanned linings, memory foam insoles and natural crepe all support the same idea: shoes created for life.

Upper materials

001 Suede and 724 Roughout Leather with character

001 suede gives Astorflex icons their soft hand and relaxed appearance.

724 Roughout Leather is a full grain leather flipped inside out, which adds more structure, comfort and texture for models.

All from carefully selected tanneries from Tuscany who we’ve been working with for a long time.

Inside the shoe

Vegetable-tanned leather close to the foot

Vegetable-tanned calf leather is used in linings and insoles because it feels natural, breathes well and develops character through wear. It is one of the details that makes the shoe feel better with time.

In our unlined shoes, we mostly use the smooth side of the roughout leather to grace the foot.

Sole materials

Midsoles, welts and outsoles built for use

Hard leather midsoles, leather welts, natural crepe soles, rubber cupsoles, and St. Moritz rubber details are chosen according to the model.

Each material has a role: comfort, flexibility, stability, grip or longevity.
